I am so excited about the Sophie and her Everyday Clothes Patterns that I recently found and listed on etsy. These are wonderful patterns for cloth dolls with a great wardrobe of clothes and these patterns were done in 2003 and 2004 by McCalls. They are great for teaching homeschoolers and younger sewers some of the techniques such as dimensional sewing and embroidery and the Sophie doll, her toys and clothes are lovely. I made these dolls several years ago and sold them for a fund raiser. The patterns I recently found are new and uncut, they are listed on www.morgansbounty.etsy.com and I have only one of each pattern. The Sophie Doll is from the McCall's pattern 4186 (Sophie & Her Everyday Clothes) and it is 1 of 6 in the series. The great thing about this pattern series is that each pattern has a specific feature. Pattern #1(4186): Basic Sewing and Doll-Making (Doll, Clothes and Playmate) Pattern #2(4268): Heirloom Sewing (Nightgown and Undergarments) Pattern #3(M4333): Blackwork(Chicken Scratch)Embroidery Homestead Dress (Dress, Bonnet, Stick Horse) Pattern #4(M4411): Beaded Embroidery Fancy Dress (Dress, Bag and Petticoat) Pattern #5(M4484): Patchwork and Applique School Dress (Blouse, Skirt, Topsy-turvy Doll) Pattern #6(M4542): Crazy Quilting Cape and Country Dress (Cape, Dress and Kitten) These patterns have been very well received and are becoming harder to find.
